Tent poles don’t form a simple parabola or arc shape, and instead form a flatter profile. You can generate the curve profile data for a single pole with our tent pole curve generator for plotting yourself. This page takes the pole profiles and generates the full side panel unrolled flat patterns for a 2 pole dome tent, similar to those found almost everywhere from music festivals to alpine mountain summits.

This is a work in progress tool designed to help myself build a freestanding tent. It is currently untested for building the physical tent, but the maths appears fine, and has been tested with paper models. Test with prototypes yourself before committing to good fabric.

For the inner of a double wall tent, consider changing the number of curve segments to a lower value such as 10, and a slightly smaller groundsheet length. The blockiness is what I will be using for the pole clips for the inner tent.
